Fostering Symbolic Thinking

Through hands-on exploration, children begin to develop symbolic thinking—the essential ability to let one object or word represent another. Infant Explorers (6 Weeks – 15 Months)

Our youngest learners thrive in a warm, nurturing environment that reflects the comfort and routines of home. We provide individualized care tailored to each baby’s needs, focusing on music, movement, early language exposure, and the development of both gross and fine motor skills.

Our caring infant teachers spend their days cuddling, engaging, and playing—building trust and creating a secure foundation for growth. Toddler Builders (1 Year – 2 Years)

Two-Year-Old Innovators (2 Years – 3 Years)

Our two-year-old program is designed for bright, curious minds eager to explore the world around them. At this stage, growing independence shines as children expand their language skills through playful conversation, storytelling, and music.

Potty training is introduced when each child is developmentally ready, with teachers partnering closely with families to maintain consistency between home and school. Lesson plans are thoughtfully crafted to support key developmental milestones—social, emotional, cognitive, and physical—ensuring every activity has a meaningful purpose.
This exciting age is full of discovery, creativity, and self-expression as children learn to share their ideas, build friendships, and take confident steps toward preschool readiness.

Preschool & Pre-K Scholars (3 Years – 5 Years)

Our preschool and pre-kindergarten classrooms are where curiosity meets confidence. Through a play-based approach, we nurture the whole child—fostering creativity, social skills, and the academic foundations essential for future success.

Each day blends joyful play with purposeful learning experiences focused on letter and number recognition, colors, shapes, and early literacy skills. Teachers use assessment tools aligned with the Creative Curriculum to track progress and personalize instruction for every learner.
Lesson plans are thoughtfully designed to support growth across all developmental areas—social-emotional, cognitive, language, literacy, mathematics, and the arts. Through imaginative play, engaging stories, and hands-on exploration, our preschoolers develop a love for learning that lasts well beyond their early years.

School-Age & Summer Programs (5 Years – 12 Years)

For our school-age learners, ages 5 to 12, DaVinci Academy offers enriching before- and after-school programs complete with convenient bus service in Belvidere. Our certified teachers provide a balance of structured homework time and engaging activities that promote creativity, teamwork, and continued learning beyond the classroom.

During the summer months, our camp transforms into an adventure-filled experience featuring exciting weekly themes, visits from local sports teams, magicians, jugglers, the Discovery Center, and more—ensuring every day sparks curiosity and fun.
Lesson plans continue to support growth across social-emotional, cognitive, literacy, mathematics, arts, and physical domains, keeping children learning, active, and inspired all year long.
